Audio Exciter Mounting System

This project was in collaboration with the Amped Electrical Engineering Capstone Project team. LaiLa prototyped a housing and magnetic mounting system design that would mount an audio exciter to the body of a guitar, which the audio exciter would then use as a diaphragm, effectively turning the guitar into its own speaker. The design was based on the ToneWoodAmp’s mounting system. While a few prototypes were produced, it did not end up being implemented in the final design of the device.

Top portion that would contain the audio exciter.

This part would go inside the guitar. The circular part would hold magnets.

Bottom plate. The rectangular cutouts would contain metal pieces that the part below could magnitize to through the guitar.

How the top and bottom parts fit together. This part would hold the audio exciter on the outside of the guitar.

This would be how the whole system would go together.
