Automatic Page Turner

A group project for UCSB’s quarter-long ME153 Introduction to Mechanical Engineering class, we were tasked with coming up with a problem and engineering a solution for it. The problem that our group came up with was page turning when playing an instrument.

Our 5 person group designed an automatic page-turner for flipping through sheet music on a music stand. The group was split into two teams, with one team of three focusing on the physical device and a team of two focusing on finding a possible method to use sound as the trigger to turn a page. LaiLa was a part of the physical device team and focused mainly on the body of the device, which held the page-turning component and held up the sheet music.

Second to last version of our prototype. This was before the remote button and sound activation mechanism was implemented.
